Dear people,

First of all I'd like to thank you for the very nice Seasons Greetings card. I really appreciate it. Last year (2001) I visited the show for 5 days and I enjoyed myself incredibly. Really perfect in almost every aspect, including a fine atmosphere.

Unfortunately I am absolutely not able to visit the Show this year which makes me rather unhappy but that's just how it is. Nevertheless I would really like to stay on your mailing list and I hope my name will not automatically be removed since I will not be attending the show this year.

Finally I like to thank you for the perfect show in 2001 and I definitely expect to be attending the 2003 issue of "The Greatest Show on Earth".

Yours

Jacob Nieland
Holland

"I visited the show on sunday with two friends. It was fantastic , never enough time to take it all in during one day though. Next year i will bring the wife and kids. Fantastic day out, well done!"

Brian Houghton, UK

"Rex-
Sorry I missed seeing you at this year's show - well, I did see you drive past a couple of times, but not to talk to. It was a great show, but then it always is and just gets bigger and better."

John Prigent, UK

"Hi there
We really had a good time this 2001 War and Peace show. It was our first one, but definitely not the last one. Next year we want to come back, with a small groupe of 4 to 7 vehicles..."

Paul, The Netherlands

"Hello from the USA!
Just wanted to drop you a note to say the show was fabulous. Unless planes just aren't flying I WILL be back next year! Hats off to all of you involved in the War and Peace show. Bravo!"

Richard Isner, USA

"Hiya-

Never did get to see you again this year and say thanks.
Yet another brilliant show, and where 9 days went I just don't know. Seemed no sooner than we there than it was time to ago again and start planning for next year. I think the two rainy days threw us out a bit. Not prepared for that we weren't! Whoever heard of rain at Beltring? Had a great time...

Had an idea. Have been doing a lot on the website from my old regiment and talking to a few people.
There are loads of ex squaddies who go to the show and also many that are trying to trace old mates.
I wondered if you might consider the possibility of placing a "trace a mate" type of section on your website. The object being ex service people can leave their service and contact details with a view to reunion, many of which could probably then meet up at the show. What better venue and facitilties than getting back together and having a drink?

Seeya next year anyway,
Best wishes to you and all the team,
Clive & Becky"

(The War and Peace team thought this was an excellent idea... Click here to see the page and meet old friends!!)

"Just a quick note to say what a tremendous show last weekend was, and many thanks for all the efforts of you and your team in making it so. I had a great weekend, both selling, buying and watching the events. I will certainly be back next year, stuff the International Air Tattoo!"

D. Sutton, Police Search team, Metropolitan Police Service

"...All I'd like to say is "Well Done, - an excellent show again, and for more days than last year. I take my hat off to you, all your staff, helpers, and anyone one else who was involved, one and all did a great job.

... what a great show, it was very busy, the weather was great, the atmosphere was brilliant. If there was a Victoria Cross for shows, you all deserve it...

...On the Jeep World stand, it was busier than last year (record sales) we made many more new contacts, we made many new friends, in all a very, very good weekend. Can't wait for next year...

PS: Please book me for the same pitch next year, same size and same plot..."

Mark Askew, Editor, Jeep World Magazine

"Just a quick note to say many thanks for a great War and Peace show - everything was perfect, and many thanks to Barbara and Rita who were really friendly- although stressed! See you all next year!"

Sharron Johnson, Johnsons of Leeds

"I am writing on behalf of all the Solent Area Military Vehicle Trust members who attended the recent Millennium War & Peace Show to thank you, your brother, Brent Pollard and all your helpers and staff for providing us with such a superb event. The number of stalls, the three bars and entertainment, the variety of living history stand and the attendance of such a tremendous number of military vehicles leaves me, as a show organiser, in awe of the sheer logistics involved in making it all come together."

Chris Davies, Solent Area Chairman, The Military Vehicle Trust

"Many thanks for an absolutely smashing weekend, all our lads had a great time. As per usual I missed about half the vehicles, but what I did see was incredible. Well done. Please thank all your team & the Hop Farm crew who helped make the event so enjoyable. We had MAFVA members from not only the UK but also Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, USA, Belgium, Holland, Spain and probably a few from countries I could not identify. I spent far too much money with the traders, but was able to get some real bargains..."

Paul Middleton, MAFVA (Miniature Armoured Fighting Vehicle Association)

"I am writing to thank you for a really brilliant day out. We came to the War and Peace show on Sunday and had a fantastic time. The night before I went onto the War and Peace website and printed directions and a map, and we had a good journey up. The park and ride system was very good. We were very impressed with the organisation of the whole show. We watched the "Saving Private Ryan" re-enactment which was amazing. Then I had a great time going round the stalls. I couldn't believe the size of the show, we'd turn a corner and there would be a whole new area! I chatted to lots of people on the stalls and they were really nice, and told me all about what to look for and told me about the things I had bought. ...

...I actually went to the show in one of my 1940s dresses and hats. Lots of people said they were pleased to see a civilian costume, so it was worth dressing up. I couldn't believe the number of people from different countries, you did a brilliant job with the publicity! We looked round the Hop Farm and the 'Decades Experience' afterwards. We were exhausted at the end of the day, but I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it!"
