The KM War and Peace Show
In Association With the IMPS

Beltring 2002 - From the Frontline by Rex Cadman

As the War and Peace Show 2001 drew to a close last year our thoughts turned to the 2002 Show. Like all shows there are those who help and those who do not, and this show by history has always been lacking in volunteers, therefore those who do volunteer are worth their weight in gold. Last year one or two volunteers stood out with their supreme efforts, and one or two let us down. I took it upon myself to outline the areas we had been let down in and by whom.

In the September 2001 Imprint Allen Ede wrote a glowing testament to my efforts on behalf of the Imps club and the military vehicle movement as a whole. A month later I was being branded as dishonourable and had been asked to resign from a Committee I had once been proud to be associated with. At the November club night I resigned from the Imps Committee no longer wishing to be associated with the path the Committee now planned to travel down.

War and Peace Show 2002

In December as Brent, Fiona, Barbara and I started at last to look seriously at organising War and Peace 2002 we realised we had wasted five months of vital time in organising a show that takes all year. The pressure was on and we had to respond. The military vehicle world had been fed all kinds of false rumours and the then Imps committee were ardently working against the show as each month rolled by further bad press appeared in the newsletter or the Imprint. Each attack just refuelled our determination to put on one hell of a show. And this we achieved but not without the help of some great volunteers all of whom we have thanked and are listed here. Some just gave a couple of hours and some just never stopped giving. I will not highlight the heroes in these pages, as they all know who they are. For me the most common comment was "I have been coming for years and thought it was time I gave something back". With a spirit like that we could not fail.

To all of you listed here we will never be able to say thank you enough, never mind your reasons,
