Popski's Private Army is unique in that it is the only official
army unit of World War Two, to have been named after its founder. Popski was an
avid desert traveller, and before the war and during the build up to the
invasion of North Africa by the Italians he was travelling far and wild
recruiting agents and stockpiling arms and ammunition for future use. Click link for further information.

Twickenham Off Roaders became a recognised group towards the end of the 80’s.
Friends who would meet up at various venues and an ad-hoc basis for green laning
trips and off-road events, mainly organised by the All Wheel Drive Club. Our first regular meetings were as AWDC supporters. We realised there were enough of
us from the West London Area to start a group meet in the area. We started
meeting in Twickenham.
