What is your role and title at War & Peace?: Big Monkton's Official, 2 I/C to Malcolm Dunlop, Also Part of the War and Peace Display Team, Member of the 502 Military Police Company Re-enactment Group
Are you happy in your role or is there something else you would prefer to do?: Yes thank you, not too much hassle, enough to keep me going
How many years have you been involved in War & Peace and why did you become involved?: 1998, Malcolm Dunlop needed some backup in marshalling his field and 'Posing' at Churchill Gate
What do your friends and family think of your involvement, do they support you and in what way?: They are happy to have some time apart. They do attend the show at the main weekend. They assist in moving of my equipment
Do you travel far to War & Peace, how do you get there and in what?: About approx 35 miles, Initially by Car to set up then in a Dodge WC54 1943 Field Ambulance
Why do you keep coming back for more?: It's a total break from my everyday life
What do you enjoy most about War & Peace and what could you add to it?: The gathering of like minded people that you may only see once a year, we are always adding to it in our own way, improving our situation within the show year by year
What do you enjoy least about War and Peace and what could you do to improve it?: Radio procedure is appalling being an ex Army Regular. I would like to hear better use of the RT and less hysterical and panicky chatter
If there were anything you could change about War & Peace what would it be and how would you assist in making these changes?: Better and more shower facilities within all fields,

I have a shovel and a few mates!!
What is your job in the real world, have you always done this and do you have any military background?: Specialist Operating Department Practitioner (Surgery and Anaesthetics), Trained in General & Mental Nursing, Specialised in Intensive Care, Trained in Operating Department Practice (Anaesthetics and Surgery, E.C.T.,) I have two Military Backgrounds 1st - Royal Navy Fire Control Gunner 69-74 and 2nd - Warrant Officer 1st Class Medic in 'Dhofar' in the Sultan of Oman's Armed Forces 83-88
What is your favourite story about your involvement or a friends involvement in War & Peace?: Confidentiality forbids me from spouting off about it. There is another one about Geoff Sumner on the Gate showing him how to stop traffic with just a raise of the eyebrows. Works everytime.
How do you see the show developing in the future? Will you still be involved and what can you do to promote the future of War & Peace?: I dish out leaflets far and wide to promote the Show, The MVT Show at Beaulieu was a good example of my W&P leaflet distribution
What military vehicle clubs do you belong to and when did you join?: IMPS 1998, MVT on and off
Do you assist in any other military shows and in what role?: No
Would you support a war and peace show club?: Yes
Do you own a military vehicle, did you restore this yourself, and are you involved in re-enactment? Have you ever been a trader?: Dodge WC54 1943 Field Ambulance. Not restored by me but an ongoing project none the less. Yes I am involved with Malcolm Dunlop with the 502 Military Police Company (2nd Armed) Re-enactment group. Never been a trader
Do you have photographs of your vehicle(s)?: Yes, I will add them to my gallery
Do you have photographs of your re-enactments?: No
What is the attraction for you about the whole military scene?: Green is my colour
When and where did you first become involved in the military hobby?: 1975 Sussex, had a 1942 Ford GPW. Joined MVCG when Peter Gray was active in it. Also joined a breakaway Allied Military Enthusiasts (AME)
If you had a never ending budget which would be the 5 vehicles you would buy?: WLA 45 Harley, Ford GPW, GMC CCKW Workshop, M24 Chaffee Tank, 37mm Field Gun behind the Jeep
Which is your favourite bar at War & Peace and why? And where do you most like to eat?: Drink = The Swamp in Big Monkton's,

Food = The Thai Food Bar
Other than War & Peace what is your idea of a perfect weekend?: Dinghy sailing, flying or better still riding a Harley in jeans and T Shirt in the South of France.
