This book written by the Late Hon. Philip Kindersley was published by Midas Books in 1983. It relates his story from when he joined the Coldstream Guards. Evacuation at Dunkirk before going to North Africa with the First Army. He writes of his capture by the Germans in Tunis in 1942. He escaped in Italy and eluded his captors, wandering the mountainous countryside, living off the hospitality of the Italian peasants. Recaptured he ended up in Oflag 79. He was finally returned to England in April 1945. A story of fortitude, privations and also with a great sense of humour despite it all. This 188pp hardback book is new and unused and in very good condition.
